#19 Lotus
14.5" Moonstone
This wand took ages to make. Particularly the flower in the hilt which was designed after a lotus. But I am quite happy with the end result. There is three levels to the lotus petals. The innermost can't quite be seen in these pictures. The moonstone turned out to be the ideal size for the width of the wand.
Overall, while stressful it turned out well
#18 Beauty, Freedom, Nobility
Pear, Phoenix tail feather, 12 1/2" pliable
Unfortunately all the orchids near me (well, nearest to me anyway) didn't have any pear wood lying around, but I will eventually claim some.
This wand was designed based on the patronus of the person - A chestnut mare. But incorporates the symbolism of horses. Beauty (Butterfly) Freedom (freeform swirling on shaft ) and Nobility (the crown). As well as having a horseshoe which is angled to not empty your luck when in a fight. (It does make storing it an issue)
Box is yellow to represent hufflepuff, glad to be making wands for a fellow Hufflepuff
#16 Pottermore
10 3/4" Black Walnut Phoenix feather
This was a commission for a gift, and why I ventured into new woods. Black walnut is now probably my favourite wood I have worked with due to its weight and subtle but noticeable texture. This one has even made its way to the Wizarding World with its owner, which makes me pleased to bits
#17 - Embrace
10 3/4" Unicorn tail hair "Elder" (Western Red Cedar)
This is a commission piece, the major design inspiration comes from the house - Ravenclaw. There is a feather wrapped around the hilt of the wand, and the pommel is hollowed out as if to accept a gemstone akin to the quest for knowledge.
The cedar was a delight to work with, and smells great (pity sealing blocks this), although it was a bit light. One of my favourite things was the red gold tinge that occurred on the feather when I stained over some of the gold. It was commented that it looks like a Phoenix. Overall I am very happy with this wand
The name - embrace sums up a lot of ravenclaw properties. Embracing change, embracing knowledge. Similarly, the wand is prepared to embrace a pommel, just as the feather embraces the handle.
#15 Aesculapius
12 inches - Phoenix tail Feather "Pear" (pine)
This wand was named and styled after the international medical symbol, derived of course from mythology. The snake, a symbol of healing due to its ability to shed skin. This was made for a medical professional who had a significant impact in my life. The handle is designed to be sacred, with a low sheen, yet smooths out in texture and appearance in a "healing" effect as it passes the snake.

This is my last of my pine stock - so here is looking at new adventures.
With SDCC this weekend, there has been no shortage of exciting news. But here I draw attention to Fantastic Beasts. The trailer was fantastic. A great look at a lot of the beautiful beasts, but I finally got a good look at Newt Scamanders wand.Image by MagictoMadness

I'm pleasantly surprised with how close I got the tone of the wand, the wear and tear. It made me feel exceptionally pleased.

one day. One day. I'll make it to SDCC. Experience this news first hand...
